- Principal investigator for improving the horticultural crops in north part of Egypt.
- Member of scientific committee for graduation of professor & assistant Professors (Ministry of Agriculture)
- An external arbitrator in Arab universities to promote professors and assistant professors and discuss master’s and doctoral theses.
- Head of the research group concerned with improving and developing the artichoke crop in Egypt (Food and Agriculture Organization and the Ministry of Agriculture) 1993-1995
- Support and encourage young researchers in Egypt.
- Contribute to build generations of pioneers in the research fields of horticultural sciences in its various specializations and contribute to strengthen the cooperation with various research institutions to graduate distinguished leaders to meet the needs of the agricultural community.
- Contribute in supporting scientific research in the agricultural field in various Egyptian universities.
- Work to continue what the late Professor Dr. Mohamed El Chal intended to do in supporting young researchers.

Researcher’s eligibility to apply for the grant:
- The applicant has to be Egyptian
- The applicant applying for the award must not exceed 45 years by the end of the year of application for the grant
- The applicant must Hold a bachelor’s degree and is preparing to obtain or has obtained a higher education degree, such as a doctorate or master’s degree, in a field related to horticulture, agriculture, or plant biology.
- The applicant must demonstrate a strong desire to undertake new and innovative research in horticulture and develop relevant agricultural practices.
Grant Application Conditions
- The applicant must submit a letter from the entity where he works explaining his interest and specialization in the field of horticulture (vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, and fruits) and his academic or practical experience in working in the field of horticulture
- The applicant must be committed to adhere to the grant time period, completing research and submitting reports on time.
- The applicant is Able to communicate and write research papers fluently in the English language
- The research should serve a local area in the Arab Republic of Egypt
- The grant provided is to help the researcher in carrying out his research and is not to purchase equipment or land.
